Would you like to get to know colors?

COLOR THERAPY IN INTERIORS - thoughts on choosing colors

We wanted to write a short series about a few colors for you, for both pleasure and practical use.

This long text is not meant to be read as objective fact, but to show how multifaceted the use of colors can be and the different ways of thinking about them. The first piece is about a color dear to Finns: blue.

For centuries, colors have been used in clothing, paintings, flags, makeup, symbols, and decorations to manipulate the conscious thinking of others.

Color is the biggest factor influencing how you want others or yourself to feel. Use this knowledge when you want to change the mood.

Colors are an important part of our everyday surroundings: in art, design, advertising, celebrations, clothing, and our home interiors.

Only color can set the mood!

Did you know this about the color blue?

Wikipedia, for example, explains that in the Middle Ages, colors were made from earth, charcoal, and animal fat. Ultramarine blue, a rare pigment mined in Afghanistan, was an expensive and sought-after color that people sometimes had to wait years for. It was needed, among other things, for paintings of the Virgin Mary. Ultramarine is therefore the name of a shade of blue, but it also means "from beyond the sea" - a fitting description of the sea journey that earth pigments and other imported goods made to reach cities.
